Green Job Opportunities

Green jobs are beneficial for the economy and the environment. They have a positive impact on the planet, pay well and give opportunities for advancement. If you are willing to expand yourself and your skills, a green job might be just what you need.
Green jobs tend to need a bit more training and skills than regular ones. Think about it, a job such as that of a renewable energy technician did not exist a few years back. So guess what? There will be some training to complete and skills to learn in order to hold a green job like that. Other green jobs will require you to take some of your existing skills and knowledge and apply them in a different way. Locum jobs for doctors is a good example about this. Instead of talking about prescriptions, treatments and therapy to their patients, they will now have to learn and communicate the benefits of consuming organic fruits and vegetables.

Farmer - There is a higher demand for organic fruits and vegetables now with our environment has taken a toll from our earlier abuse. Most farmers nowadays are over 50 years old and do not have the knowledge and skills to grow organic food. More than ever, we are in need of more farmers who can go get the education they need to obtain degrees to pursue green jobs in agriculture.
Environmental Engineer - Our planet needs protection from further deterioration and protection against things such as acid rain, greenhouse gases, soil erosion, global warming and ozone depletion. An environment engineer will do just that. In fact, it is projected that in the next decade or so, this these types of jobs will rise by up to 25%.
Solar Power Installer - This is another type of green job that is growing fast. These people are in charge of installing solar rooftop panels and solar thermal water heaters among other solar equipment.
These are just some examples of the green job opportunities out there and the type of skills and knowledge that will need to be obtained in order to work in positions like these. There will no doubt be plenty of other green jobs available in the future.
